Children achieve greater academic, social and emotional success by learning through play. We incorporate a concept, and bring in real life objects into the play space to encourage real-life experiences to foster their creative mind. We emergent plan and build off the child’s curiosity, and expand off their emerging interests to enhance their learning possibilities. Our program is well versed inside and out.
Yes, all our educators hold a full Early Childhood Education license, in order to work in the preschool. From time to time we may have an ECE- Assistant, or Responsible Adult support the Educator.
Please send your child with a backpack they can carry in and out each day. In this pack please have; slippers, leak proof water jug, healthy snack, change of clothes, hat. You can bring a second reusable bag with larger weather permitting belongings ie: Snow pants, gloves, toque, or rain pants etc. This bag will travel to and from the preschool so you will need to ensure you restock it regularly.
Our program starts outside each and every day, we believe that children thrive best while in their natural elements outside. We live in such a beautiful place, we incorporate hikes, nature walks, and being outdoors rain, snow, and sunshine into our monthly plans. The children will be provided with natural learning resources to build, manipulate, and create using nature. The children learn the plant life cycle and take part in a seed to table learning culture while we plan, plant and harvest our onsite seasonal garden.
We incorporate into our daily circle practices of calm, breathe work, sharing gratitude, and integrating awareness into every aspect of the child’s day. We bring in nature elements and connect the children to use their 5 senses to create, explore and learn about themselves, their environment and others around them. Teaching mindfulness creates an environment where children can process emotions in a positive way. They create tools to carry with them as they grow and develop in their own world.
